Here’s a theme song I made for an animation thing I’m working on. It’s not going to be used because I made it and everything before I realized it was a huge rip-off of the nockFORCE theme song. Oh well.
Max: YOUR QUEST:
go through “damn it feels good to be a gangsta”
replace “gangsta” with “panda”
Ethan: hahaha
Max: THIS IS YOUR QUEST
And then he actually did it.

There used to be a record store in my town that featured a box of free CDs— promotional advances, usually, that the management had no need or desire for. The albums in the bin were, as was to be expected, of varying degrees of quality, but out of the middling muck of mediocrity there occasionally shone a gem, either amazing (The Saps) or terrible (bace135), both of which I coveted equally. I’m not going to lie— that box was the primary reason I went to that store, and probably didn’t help the conditions that led it to close in March of last year.
The feeling I get now browsing netlabels is the same feeling I got browsing that box. I’d known about netlabels— I’ve downloaded pretty much everything on Quote Unquote— but up until yesterday I had no idea of the number. There’s so much content that it’s overwhelming— I downloaded almost two gigs worth yesterday before I got a hold of myself.
I can’t make my mind up about Sky Barstow’s It’s Circular, one of the first albums I found, but I’m pretty sure this particular song is rad, evoking both Justice and recent Of Montreal (without all the sexual-fake-funk-dickery). It’s not quite one of the gems I’m bent with finding, but it’s fun and it’s free so why the hell not.
